WHICH SWIMBLER AM I?

All Swimble’s have been designed to be challenging and fun with mixed topography both in and out of the water to keep you engaged and on your toes. 

THE S100 – Being a competent and strong heads up breastroker is essential for your enjoyment and participation.

Taken at a leisurely pace its a journey, not a race and you’re be on Safari for around 90 mins. No one swim is greater than 30 minutes and no walk is too long.

The 100 is an ideal introduction into adventure swimming.

Gentle, flow assisted swims combined with flat trail walks this option is a great choice if you’re looking to try adventure swimming for the first time.

There is no time cut off time however being able to swim is essential and some experience in open water preferred but not necessary.

THE S250 – Perfect for open water swimmers looking for a bigger adventure.

On Safari for around 2 hours and with up to 45 minutes in the water at any one time, being a comfortable, confident swimmer is all important to enjoy the 250!

You will be with swimmers of similar ability so no one will be left behind or left waiting. The ideal stepping stone with longer swims the 250 is perfect if you have tried adventure swimming before and looking to take it up a notch.

For safety cut-off times apply: swimmers must be able to swim 1 mile open water in 45 minutes. (Wetsuits recommended but not mandatory.)

THE S500 – With up to 5000 meters of adventure swimming its the big one.

2 hours of non stop Swimble action the 500 is suited to experienced, confident swimmers looking to go that little bit further…faster.

With a maximum of just 12 Adventurers per tour to retain that exclusivity we run Safaris over most weekends. With the fluctuation of times and tides each Safari is unique creating a one off experience every-time.

If a group setting is not the fit for you or your require a bespoke pacakage please get in touch and we can arrange.

PACK LIST

Depending on which Swimble you are on we would recommend wearing a swimming costume as a base layer however this is not essential.

A sturdy pair of lace up trainers, or swim type lace up shoes are essential for your comfort and must be worn throughout the duration.

Shorts or leggings can be worn for modesty; they just need to be comfortable to walk in whilst wet and swim in, along with a t-shirt or rash vest

A hoodie, long sleeve tee & or another cover up & a small hand towel can be kept in your dry bag & worn between swims to keep comfortable.

Valuables including your phone can be carried safely in your dry bag or alternatively along with your change of clothes can be secured in your car or Swim Safari vehicle awaiting your safe return

ADVENTUROUS TYPE!

You must be confident wading and walking over flat but mixed terrain (hard path, mud, grass and marshland) No hills we promise.

Arguably the most unique location on the Essex open water calendar each Safari is a journey punctuated by landmarks, wildlife and stunning

Depending on the Safari route of the day there could be up to 3 separate swims assisted by the flow. So sit back, relax and let the great outdoors carry you away.

LOCATION

There is a free car park at the Two Tree Island registration area, somewhere to lock up your bike and Leigh-on-Sea rail station is just a 17 min walk away and only 40 minutes from central London. Private transport can be arranged for individuals and groups.

Safaris are physical, so please ensure you are well fed and watered before you arrive. Upon arrival you will register and change.     LANDSCAPE

    Tree Island you’ll Safari through over 800 years of history as you Swim the Thames waterways, creeks and islands. The expanse of Hadleigh Country Park flanks this area of the Essex Marshes and was the location of the 2012 Olympic Mountain Bike Course. Hadleigh Castle dominates this landscape and you’ll swim in the shadow of its romantic ruins.

    The 630 acre reserve situated off Leigh on Sea is managed by managed by Essex Wildlife Trust. It is a designated site of Special Scientific Interest, Special Protection Area and a National Nature Reserve.

    In addition to a large area of salt marsh and mudflat its variety of habitats include mixed scrub, rough grassland and reedbeds.

    Fresh water and saline lagoons ensure that it features a wide variety of species throughout the year. So be on the look-out for Cormorants, Little Egrets, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Grey Heron, and maybe spot a friendly Seal.
